Might our afflictions be Blessings? Might we need to know that sometimes we will just have to deal with it, live with it and use it to show our LORD, our GOD, JESUS CHRIST, just how much we Love HIM by enduring and denying this flesh, along with all of the afflictions? Without allowing it to cause us to backslide or fall?
2 Corinthians 12:9 - And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
1 Corinthians 10:13 - There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Romans 8:18 - For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Romans 5:3-4 - And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience
Psalms 119:71 - It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
Psalms 22:26 - The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live forever.
James 1:2-4 - My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Psalms 34:1-22 - (A Psalm of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed.) I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Psalms 22:24 - For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
Psalms 10:17-18 - LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear
John 16:33 - These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Hebrews 12:1 - Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us
Romans 8:1 - There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
And I think one of the most moving passages for me, about affliction, is 2 Corinthians 4:17 - For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory
As you face your daily struggle, ask GOD to give you the strength to endure your affliction. Don't forget, when that “thorn in your side” rears its ugly face, to focus on GOD, WHO Alone can meet all of your needs.
Dear Heavenly FATHER, Thank YOU for leaving Heaven, coming to earth and living in poverty before suffering and dying for the sins of others, but most of all, Thank YOU for rising again, conquering death and becoming our example. Today YOU intercede for me and for us all. More than anything else, YOU want each of us to become CHRIST-Like. When I consider the selfishness of so much of my praying and seeking, I see how far I have to go. Forgive me and help me to accept, endure and deny. Thank YOU, LORD, for all of the Blessings YOU bestow upon each one of us. Please LORD, continue to mold and use me to do YOUR Will and YOUR Work in bringing YOUR Truth to this nation, and all nations. It is in YOUR Mighty and Precious Name, Dear JESUS, that I pray. Amen.
