Christian publishers are putting out more books on how to deal with personal problems and less on the doctrine of JESUS CHRIST and the Holy Bible. It’s all about that next dollar!
As our culture disintegrates, as our families fall apart, as more people lack a good, supportive network of close friends in whom they can trust and on whom they can rely, as pressures increase and ways of dealing with them seem to elude many, a large number of Christians find that they desperately need information on how to live! How to figure out what they should be doing! How to exist ‘in this world’!
Books on.... Relationships, Stress, Break-Ups, Gender Identity, Depression, Getting Well, Living "Right" and the list goes on!!! Heresy! I say, this is all heresy! A true deviation from the path that The LORD has placed before each one of us.
The Holy Bible, GOD’S Infallible Word, tells us the answers to all of the questions we could ever have, or even imagine.
This Faith walk calls us to mature in our relationships with others. Most of us have never learned how to make friends, so we went to school not knowing how to build relationships. Our first attempts at making friends may have failed and we may have withdrawn, going into a secret, inner world where many of us had imaginary friends who loved us. Some of us sought attention, at any cost. We began finding out that the attention we got from others, be it negative or not, was attention and we wanted it. We began to have fantasies about being loved, and appreciated. As time went on those fantasies turned sexual, or at least they did for the ones we came in contact with. We went from fantasy to activity. We got attention. We got the illusion of being cared for. We did not get real friends. We did not learn how to do so. We became victims.
Now we have to start at the beginning and learn what we should have learned years ago. It's difficult! We feel like a fish out of water. But isn't that how one always feels when launching out into unfamiliar territory?
Ask yourself, "Do I want to grow up?" And then do so! Ask for whatever you want HIM to give you.
