Before you yield to the devil’s suggestions ask yourself just Who you will be quitting on? The Truth is that if we throw up our white flag, we will be quitting on JESUS CHRIST. We will turn our back on HIM Who has never turned HIS back on us. We will turn from the path of righteousness and slink off seeking ease, when HE set HIS Face like a flint toward Jerusalem and the Cross and let nothing turn HIM from that which purchased the Hope of our eternal salvation. Will we quit on HIM who did not quit us? Never!
But what choice do we have? You can choose to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start back over again. You can recognize the truth that most people who struggle with addiction (which include compulsive behaviors) suffer a relapse now and then. You can stop thinking you are so much better than they are and join them on your knees before the Throne of Grace. You can learn from your failure to fight better next time. What went wrong? What might you have done differently? Who can you ask for counsel? Have you slacked off working on your recovery? Were you neglecting Bible study, prayer, and Praise & Worship? Did self-confidence replace CHRIST-confidence? The answer to these questions can help us recognize what lead us astray, so pay attention!!
Not just the answers to these questions, but a little courage and a determination that shouts, "No surrender!" are the things that can turn your temporary setback into a great Blessing! Our GOD is able to bring good out of trouble, if we will walk with HIM and talk with HIM! Forward! Don’t give up!! Trust and Obey!!! And if you slip up, don’t let the devil trick you, deceive you or shame you into believing that there is no turning back now, because there is and you are worthy of HIS Love and HIS Grace & HIS Mercy!!!!
Dear FATHER, Please grant that I will never, never quit on CHRIST! Give me a heart that Loves HIM too much to even consider such a thing. Give me the humility to face my failures without blaming YOU or anyone else. Please grant me the courage to persevere until the Victory is won. Help me to say with determination, "No surrender!" Thank YOU for the Blessings YOU grant us every day. I Praise YOU LORD JESUS, and I Pray in YOUR Powerful and Precious Name. Amen.
