Making amends with those we have hurt is a major part of our walk in the Freedom we've been granted. We can hardly overestimate the importance of making amends. Unfortunately, most of us under-estimate the power that making amends actually has to change our attitude toward GOD The FATHER, others and even life itself.
When you set out to make amends, you make a proposal for a new life. You begin to find it because seeking Forgiveness & Mercy from those you have hurt or abused prompts you to show Mercy & Forgiveness to those individuals. You cannot hate and make amends at the same time, not genuinely anyways.
Confessing & re-examining our wrongs can bring the new life we need to find the Freedom that we seek. It can bring us Spiritual understanding as well as developing Spiritual strength. We find ourselves becoming like The CHRIST, which is the goal. We find our true identity, as GOD Almighty Created & intended it to be, as it becomes ever more clear. We experience the Joy that comes from doing GOD’S Will. We become whole men and whole women rather than fragmented persons. We come clean with The FATHER, self and with others and find that it feels wonderfully amazing & freeing.
Any attitudes of unwillingness or reservation in making amends block the Blessing that HE wants to pour out on us. We feel guilty & discontented and this fills us with defensiveness & anger. These are painful emotions and we find they bring temptation to turn back to the old empty ways in a foolish attempt to numb the pain our own unfaithfulness is causing.
We must choose to either live with the guilt, shame & anger that unresolved wrongs involve, or the Peace, Joy & Love that making amends can bring. To choose the former is to choose continued bondage but to choose to work it Faithfully & thoroughly is to choose Freedom. What will you choose?
Dear FATHER, Please help me to remember that YOUR Word calls me to deny self, to take up my cross, and to follow The CHRIST. That does not sound easy. It will not be easy. It is, however, the way to health and wholeness. May I walk it now and always and enjoy the Blessings that flow from such a life. Thank YOU, GOD Almighty, for the many Blessings YOU so generously pour out on each of us every single moment of every single day. I Praise YOU! I Glorify YOU! I Pray to YOU, in The Precious Name of YESHUA, JESUS The CHRIST. Amen.
