If we refuse to face ourselves, we doom ourselves to staying where we are. You cannot solve problems you won't acknowledge. There is no getting better without first taking a long, hard look at what needs to be corrected.
That is the reason we must not only confess to GOD, but we must also confess to another person as well, preferably our Pastor, but it must be a brother or sister in CHRIST. We must recognize and share the unpleasant and ugly truths about ourselves. It’s called transparency and it not only helps us, but also helps others to see and face their own demons and inner-selves they would rather keep hidden. When we have really done so, we can begin to pray diligently for GOD’S help in removing our defects of character and work with HIM to become all that HE intended for us to be. Won't you ask GOD for the courage to see yourself clearly, and won't you exercise the courage HE gives starting today?
Dear GOD, How it hurts so much to see the ugly things which have become part of me. Please forgive me for being such a coward and avoiding the necessary pain. Help me to face myself, my sin, and my character defects honestly so that all that is crooked may be made straight. Thank YOU that the things I dread to face are Forgiven. Thank YOU for all of the many Blessings YOU grant each of us on a daily basis. Please LORD, grant that I may be a shining Light of YOUR Love and Hope. I Praise & Glorify YOU, LORD JESUS and I Pray to YOU in YOUR Mighty and Precious Name. Amen.
