We admit being powerless in order to be thrust toward GOD, our Teacher. Some find that their admission of being powerless seems to push them away from GOD. GOD seems so Perfect, so Holy, and so Good that they feel estranged from HIM.
As I read 2Corinthians 12:8 I can see the example of Paul when he spoke of his weaknesses and prayed that they would go away. That didn't work. So, he concluded that GOD had a reason--and he was right! GOD said, "MY Strength is made perfect in your weakness." Paul learned that he could talk about his weaknesses and no longer had to be ashamed because those very weaknesses were the moments that the power of CHRIST was able to work in him. Paul sums it up by saying in verse 10, "When I am weak, then I am strong." This is the basis of Freedom and healing for all of us who struggle with strongholds, addictions and the temptations of our very own flesh.
Dear FATHER in Heaven, Thank YOU for Faith. Please help me to know that when I am weak, it is then that I am strong in CHRIST. May I admit my helplessness in order to be drawn to YOU, and never for the sake of self-pity and hopeless despair. Paul had one weakness; I have another. But in CHRIST, I know that I am strong. Thank YOU, for all of the Mighty and Majestic Blessings YOU bestow upon each one of us! Thank you! In CHRIST JESUS’ Precious Name I Pray. Amen.
